KYLA COLE

Kyla Cole is a 2020 graduate of Howard University, where she proudly served as the 81st Miss Howard University and the 2018–2019 Miss Cathy Hughes School of Communications. During her time at Howard, she became a member of Alpha Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, as well as Howard University Campus Pals and Collegiate 100, a mentorship organization under 100 Black Men of America. After graduation, Kyla built the public relations department at Stamp Idea Group, worked in public affairs at Vox Global, and managed social media strategies for two political campaigns.

She later served in multiple roles for Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, including staff assistant, executive assistant, special advisor, and public affairs liaison during Rep. Beatty’s tenure as chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Today, Kyla serves as a legislative assistant to Shomari Figures in Alabama’s Second District, focusing on policy development in rural healthcare, food insecurity, housing, and civil liberties. She remains deeply committed to service and leadership, dedicated to ensuring that others know: You are worthy, you are powerful, and you are enough.
