DELEGATE ROZIA A. HENSON, JR.

Delegate Henson was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates following the 2023 election cycle; his first legislative term is ongoing. He currently serves as the Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus. As a trailblazer, Delegate Henson breaks barriers and brings diverse perspectives to the House of Delegates, working towards a more equitable and inclusive Virginia. During the 2024 Legislative Session, Delegate Henson introduced and passed legislation on marriage equality,

mitigated workforce shortages in assisted living and nursing facilities, addressed vehicular speeding issues, improved public notification policies for local governments and designated the month of July in Virginia as “Uterine Fibroids Awareness Month” annually. Delegate Henson also piloted the Virginia General Assembly’s first-ever placement program with SOAR365 to create professional positions for individuals with disabilities.

Woodbridge, Virginia, Delegate Rozia A. Henson,

Jr. graduated from Virginia State University (VSU) with a bachelor’s degree in political science and later graduated from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) with his Master of Business Administration degree. Today, Delegate Henson is a successful federal contractor as a program manager for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and small business owner.
