for both the Biology Department and Pre-Professional Scholars Program, and a member of the University Student Advisory Board. Morgan’s heart for service extended beyond campus and across borders. Through Global Medical Brigades, she participated in medical service trips to Panama and Belize, helping provide healthcare resources and essential supplies to underserved communities. As Site Coordinator for the Ray Warren Cross the Street Tutorial Program, she led initiatives that supported local elementary students academically and personally, including implementing an annual Gift-A-Kid Initiative that served more than 50 students each year. Her dedication to community impact earned her the “Excellence in Community Service” GALA Award after completing over 500 service hours. Committed to advancing healthcare innovation and scientific discovery, Morgan cultivated an impressive background in research and industry experience throughout her undergraduate career. She conducted

research at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering and was selected as an inaugural National Institutes of Health ESTEEMED Research Scholar. She further expanded her professional experience through competitive internships and fellowships with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Amgen, and Novartis, where she served as an Oncology General Management Intern and Beacon of Hope Fellow. As she prepares to begin the next chapter of her journey as a Rales Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University pursuing a Master of Science in biotechnology and pharmaceutical engineering, she remains committed to becoming a catalyst for change within health equity, drug development, and underserved communities. Morgan hopes to use her education, research, and lived experiences to create innovative healthcare solutions, expand access to quality care, and inspire the next generation of leaders to serve with purpose.

Morgan C. Johnson graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, earning dual degrees in biology and kinesiology while building a legacy rooted in leadership, service, and impact. A proud scholar-leader, Morgan bala nced academic excellence with a deep commitment to uplifting her community, using every opportunity to serve, mentor, and advocate for others. Throughout her collegiate journey, Morgan held numerous leadership positions dedicated to education, mentorship, and community engagement. She served as Freshman Class President through the Student Government Association, Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Ray Warren Cross the Street Tutorial Program, Vice President of Global Medical Brigades, and Social Media Chair for the Student Government Elections Committee. Her passion for mentorship was also reflected through her work as a Biology Big Sister Mentor, Undergraduate Student Ambassador
