From her earliest days at ASU, Guy emerged as a dynamic force in student life. Driven by a passion for leadership, mentorship, and storytelling, she has intentionally placed herself where she could make the greatest difference. Through Student Orientation Services, she helps new Hornets transition into college life, creating a sense of belonging and reminding them that ASU is more than a campus. It is home. That same spirit defines her work as a Hornet-to-Hornet Mentor, where she provides one-on-one guidance to peers navigating academic and personal challenges. For Guy, mentorship is about listening, encouraging, and walking alongside others when they need support most. Creativity fuels her voice. As a member of the One a Chord Glee Club, she uses music to inspire and unify, while her role with ASU’s Athletic Media Team allows her to highlight student-athlete achievements and school pride through digital storytelling. In both spaces, she
blends artistry with purpose, showcasing the excellence of Alabama State University. Beyond campus, Guy has dedicated more than 200 hours to community service, demonstrating her commitment to outreach and social impact. Her involvement with the Greater Montgomery Chapter of Collegiate 100 reflects her passion for empowering young leaders through education, mentorship, and service. Her advocacy for student success also shines through her work with the Student Government Association, where she served as a voice for progress, inclusion, and empowerment. In every role, Guy leads with collaboration, compassion, and a genuine desire to uplift others. At the core of her life and leadership is her Christian faith. She draws strength from Proverbs 3:5–6, trusting God to guide her path and anchor her purpose. Her faith fuels her optimism and
commitment to lead with integrity, even in challenging moments.
As she prepares for life after Alabama State University, Sydney Guy remains focused on using her platform to amplify voices, build bridges, and spark positive change. Whether through media, mentorship, ministry, or community engagement, she is determined to continue telling stories that matter and serving where she is most needed. Her reign as the 86th Miss Alabama State University reflects what HBCUs do best. They cultivate leaders who are academically prepared, socially conscious, spiritually grounded, and committed to service. In every space she enters, Sydney Guy carries the spirit of ASU with pride. Her crown is not merely worn. It is lived through service, leadership, and love. And as her journey continues, one thing is certain. The impact of Miss ASU will be felt far beyond the campus she so proudly represents.
